Field Note Author resource library

Storefront Field Guide is designed to help ecommerce teams make safer Shopify, migration, SEO and tool decisions. It is not a substitute for store-specific professional advice.

By using the site, you agree to treat the content as educational guidance and to review your own store, data, platform constraints and commercial risks before making changes.

Educational guidance, not a guarantee

The site helps you think through Shopify SEO, migrations, platform decisions and tools. It does not guarantee rankings, traffic, revenue, indexation or migration outcomes.

Your store still needs its own review

Guides and checklists cannot see your full catalogue, theme, analytics, redirects, apps, legal duties, contracts or commercial constraints.

Third-party platforms change

Shopify, WordPress, WooCommerce, Google, Semrush, TinyIMG, email providers, affiliate platforms and other services control their own products, rules and pricing.

How to use the site

AreaUse
Guides and articlesUse them as planning support and general educational guidance. They are not a complete audit of your store.
Checklists and downloadsUse them as working documents to organise evidence, decisions and risk. They still need human review before live changes.
Free browser toolsUse them for quick previews or planning. Outputs should be checked manually before being applied to important pages.
Tool and partner referencesUse them as evaluation starting points. A tool may suit one store and be unnecessary or risky for another.

Your responsibility before making changes

Ecommerce changes can affect search visibility, sales, analytics, checkout, tracking, customer experience and legal obligations. Before acting on a guide or checklist, you should make sure the change fits your store.

  • Back up data and export evidence before changing URLs, redirects, apps, themes, analytics, product data or content.
  • Test changes on staging, development or low-risk samples where possible.
  • Check current third-party documentation before making platform, app, analytics, tracking, privacy or migration decisions.
  • Ask qualified developers, SEO specialists, analytics specialists, legal advisers or platform support teams where a decision carries material risk.
  • Make sure any action taken from the site fits your own business, country, budget, contractual duties and technical setup.

Some links may be affiliate links. The affiliate disclosure explains how commercial relationships are handled. Commission should not decide whether a recommendation is right for your store.
