Platform fit scorer

Find out whether your store is ready to move to Shopify.

Score your current setup against eight platform fit signals. The result is a move/wait/reconsider recommendation with a specific reason.

The score is not a verdict. It is a structured way to surface the signals that predict whether a migration will improve or damage commercial performance.

Score your platform fit

Answer eight questions about your current platform. The output is a move recommendation with a specific reason for each signal.

1. What is your biggest current platform problem?
2. How much custom functionality does your current store have?
3. What is your current search traffic situation?
4. How many products or categories do you sell?
5. What is your annual online revenue?
6. How is your current checkout performing?
7. Does your business have international selling requirements?
8. What is the team's honest capacity for a migration project?

What the signals measure

Platform problem. The clearest migration signal is a platform that is actively limiting business operations. If the platform is not causing problems, migration risk must be justified against speculative gain.

Custom functionality. Shopify's ecosystem covers standard ecommerce well. Highly custom platforms — bespoke pricing logic, complex B2B workflows, unusual inventory systems — require more rebuild time and often cannot be replicated exactly in Shopify.

Search traffic. A growing site with strong search equity has more to lose from a poorly managed migration than a new site with no history. This does not mean do not migrate — it means treat search equity protection as a first-class project requirement.

Catalogue scale. Shopify handles large catalogues well. The migration complexity grows with scale — import time, redirect map size, variant data QA, and feed validation all take longer with more products.

The output is a recommendation, not a guarantee. Use it as a structured prompt to surface the most important conversation in your migration planning meeting.
